Crime Solving

A study validated by independent criminology researchers at Texas Christian University and the University of Texas at Tyler found that Flock technology is instrumental in solving approximately 10% of reported crime in the U.S. (KRON4)

According to that study, for a typical law enforcement agency, the addition of one Flock Safety LPR camera per sworn officer is associated with a 9.1% increase in the clearance rate of crimes. (Police1)

Local Crime Reduction

Overall crime in Roanoke dropped 23% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, according to Roanoke Police Department statistics — violent crime fell 28%, and rape, aggravated assault, and robbery each declined between 24% and 36%. Police Chief Scott Booth and other RPD officials attributed the improvement to a combination of factors, including added downtown and neighborhood patrols, community engagement programs, and technology — specifically citing Flock license plate readers and the department's ROC3 real-time crime center, which supported 99 incidents and 15 arrests in Q1 2026.
