The Roanoke Police Department operates a growing network of Flock Safety license plate reader cameras that scan and log every vehicle that passes, regardless of suspicion. We don't think that should be the default in our community. This site lays out the facts — what the cameras do, who can access the data, and what's gone wrong with this technology elsewhere — and gives you a direct way to tell the City Council to take them down.
